Ontology-Based Self-Organization in Service-Oriented Architectures

چکیده
In Service-Oriented Architectures services can be deployed and removed at runtime and can be arranged to business processes. Service-based applications and business processes can be reconfigured and optimized by replacing the participating services. In large environments, service processes should employ self-properties to improve manageability and flexibility. We demonstrate an approach, realized in the ADDO project, which includes ontologies and QoS properties to achieve properties like self-configuration and self-optimization within service processes.

Quality-aware Self-Management for Service Processes in Service-Oriented Architectures
One of the salient features of Service-Oriented Architectures is that services can be deployed and removed at runtime. But service replacement and management for service processes is a demanding task in complex IT-Systems, especially under additional constraints like optimizing the Quality of Service of a service process. A self-managing system is desired but missing. We have already achieved s...
متن کاملServices Management Using Context Information, Ontologies and the Policy-Based Management Paradigm: Towards Integrated Management in Autonomic Communications
The management of pervasive services on next generation networks involves self-management capabilities for improving performance and achieving interoperability necessary to support current and next generation services. This paper introduces a case study on an ontology-based, policydriven architecture for managing pervasive services using context information. The architecture employs ontologies ...
متن کاملA Reference Architecture for Automation of Inter-Organizational Process-Oriented Collaboration
In today’s competitive, dynamic, and changing business environment, being able to collaborate globally within and beyond the enterprise borders is critical. Inter-Organizational Collaborations (IOCs) have been proposed as a response to the characteristics of highly competitive global business environments. So far, a number of reference models, frameworks, and ad hoc architectures related to som...
متن کاملA Native Ontology Approach for Semantic Service Descriptions
A number of ontology-based approaches have been suggested for the description of service behaviors to be used in service composition and matching in service oriented architectures. We examine an approach based on classical software engineering notation and compare it to other approaches.
متن کاملA Comparison of Self-Organization Mechanisms in Nature and Information Technology
Successful concepts of self-organization found in natural systems can enable enterprise information systems to address their complexity issues. In this paper, we propose an analysis of self-organization approaches found in natural sciences and information technology. Based on common classes both for application areas and mechanisms, these two fields are compared in order to identify successful ...
